"Being a professional footballer comes with having incredible highs and some tough lows. In what has been the most difficult year in my career on the pitch, I found it incredibly helpful and reassuring to confide in Sue some of the issues I was experiencing. Sue has vast experience in the game and I felt completely reassured knowing I was talking to someone who understood the complexities of the dressing room and the game. I felt completely at ease and comfortable talking with Sue and her advice and guidance was really helpful."

“Sue has helped me over the last 6 months in so many ways. She has opened my mind to techniques and skills that I would have dismissed before speaking to her and they have really helped me in and out of football. She has also helped me realise things that may have been holding me back as a person. All in all my experience with Sue has been very positive and I feel she has helped me move forward as a person and a player in an industry that can be hard to deal with at times.”

" Having known Sue for coming up to 10 years I can not endorse Sue more as a person and the services that Sue provides. I have introduced a number of my clients to Sue in respect to welfare and wellbeing and the feedback has always been excellent to say the least. With welfare, wellbeing and mental health being so prevalent in the modern day I strongly believe that the added service that Sue provides alongside what I do is essential which has been shown in the upturn in performance and outlook." " I have known Sue professionally for over 10 years. We first met when she was working with Brighton and Hove Albion FC and we represented a number of players at the club. Sue was always extremely positive, helpful and friendly to us and all of our clients. Over the past year we have been working much closer with Sue as she has headed up our Welfare Department - providing care and support to the New Vision players. The feedback from everyone (be they young players, older players or parents) has been extremely encouraging. The need for more attention to be directed towards the mental health of professional sportsmen and women has been highlighted in recent times. In an industry that can be cut-throat and ruthless and an emotional roller-coater, Sue plays a major role in ensuring that our clients remain not only physically in good health but mentally too. Sue is highly skilled and experienced in her field, and due to her having worked within the football industry for so many years (unlike many others in her field), she has a greater understanding and empathy with our clients as to what they might be going through. Aside from the fact that she has a wealth of expertise as a welfare officer, Sue has been married to an ex-professional footballer, acted as a ‘dig’s host’ to a number of Brighton players, who have gone on to have excellent careers, and worked club side too. This, together with her excellent manner and intuition made Sue the only choice for us at New Vision to fill the role as Head of Welfare. We believe in working with the very best and in Sue we have that. This is why at New Vision we view Sue as an invaluable asset to our company."

"I very much feel that the service which Sue Parris provides is invaluable to young players. Football can be a turbulent environment and players often need a confidant and mentor to help them navigate the complex world of academy and professional football. My son has really benefitted from the work he has done with Sue in help maturing his thoughts, creating vision for success, and giving him the necessary life skills for living away from home. Every club has the infrastructure to make academy players physically fit, however in my opinion there isn’t enough focus on the positive mental well-being of players in some areas of football. From my experience, I truly believe the services that Sue delivers allows the boys to mature into balanced and grounded individuals with a competitive edge. This ultimately reflects positively on both the player, the respective club and Agent. Invest in Sue and player success will inevitably follow".

“I am currently a youth team footballer and I  speak to Sue for help and also to guide me through the process of trying to accomplish being a professional footballer and the challenges I could face on a weekly basis. I find Sue very helpful as we do a lot of physical work to help our physical health however, there isn’t as much focus on our mental health. Sue is very helpful to have as it is a different person to speak to and to help me not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well. The guidance and support Sue has given me over the last 18 months that I have been speaking to her has impacted my life on and off the pitch in a positive way. I feel like it is needed to have someone there like Sue to help you in your journey”.

‘I’ve only been speaking to Sue for a couple of months but already I can see a difference in myself and the people around me can too. Sue has helped me with a lot of stuff, on and off the pitch, by breaking situations down and really thinking about them. She has a lot of experience in the football environment with youth players and experienced first team players, it also helps that there is someone else you can talk to".

“My sessions with Sue have been really useful, giving me the time and space to explore how I am feeling and why that might be. She allowed me to feel heard, to speak freely and honestly without ever feeling judged, and I am super grateful for that”
